COMPANY PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

N

Health and Safety in an Integrated Setting

Real Care Maine LLC serves the best interests of individuals who present a high risk to themselves and to others. Our primary concern is to keep them safe when out in the community and in one of our managed care homes. This includes being safe from physical injury and also infections and communicable diseases such as TB or Covid-19. We assist our residents by licensed, trained, experiences staff who support them to make good judgments and to make requests for help when the need arises. Above all, we promote individuals to direct and determine the implementation of their care plan in a healthy, integrated, and least restrictive manner.

N

Informed Choice through Person-Centered Principles

When a person has all the information he or she needs, that person is able to make an informed decision and make choices in their own best interest and wishes. This allows the person to have positive control over their life. And we, the people who deliver services benefit because we get to witness individuals achieve goals that are meaningful to them, are able to work creatively and collaboratively with others to find successful solutions, and we all experience fewer disruptions and crises because plans are successful more often.

N

Independence and Self-determination through Positive Support Strategies

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for people who receive our licensed services. Positive supports buttress goals that promote community participation, person-centeredness and inclusion in the most integrated setting, that focus on creating high-quality environments, ensures collaborative development of positive support strategies, increases skills and self-determination of people who receive services, improves the quality of life of people who receive services, ensures that people are free from humiliating and demeaning procedures, eliminates the use of aversive and deprivation procedures and creates a consistent set of standards for providers across our service settings.
